Acacia ‘Sterling Silver’ is a small ornamental wattle prized for its striking silvery-blue foliage and compact, mounded habit. In late winter to spring it produces profuse clusters of pale yellow, fluffy pea-flowers that contrast beautifully with the cool-toned foliage, providing seasonal interest and texture in the garden.

This hardy shrub is ideal for low hedging, coastal or native-style gardens, screening, mass plantings, and containers. Its compact form and attractive foliage make it an excellent choice for adding year-round colour and structure to both formal and informal plantings.

Grevillea ‘Mason’s Hybrid’ is a vigorous, medium-sized shrub renowned for its prolific display of striking red-pink spider flowers which appear year-round, with heaviest flowering in spring and autumn. It typically reaches 1.5 to 2.5 meters in height with a similar spread, forming a dense, bushy habit. The deeply divided, dark green foliage provides excellent contrast to the vibrant blooms, making it a standout feature in both native and mixed gardens.

Highly attractive to nectar-feeding birds and pollinators, this cultivar is also valued for its resilience — tolerating drought, light frost, and coastal conditions with ease. It’s a tough, low-maintenance plant ideal for urban landscapes, wildlife gardens, or informal hedging.

Uses:

Feature plant in native gardens

Hakea ‘Stockdale Sensation’ is a spectacular cultivar that makes a striking statement during the cooler winter months. A profuse covering of unique red and cream pin cushion flowers provide a show-stopping display. Hakeas are renowned for their bold, handsome foliage and unusual pin cushion flowers. ‘Stockdale Sensation’ is certainly no exception to this. This variety is fast growing and offers a dense, weeping habit with narrow foliage. Flowers are profuse.

Care

‘Stockdale Sensation’ prefers a sunny site to ensure you achieve a maximum flower display, and should be planted in a well drained soil. Pruning is required periodically, and should be done just after flowering.

Magnolias are a spectacular flowering shrub or tree due to their stunning flower displays. This particular variety, Magnolia Little Gem, is a dwarf form with dark green glossy leaves and brown velvety undersides. Little Gem produces full-sized creamy-white, fragrant flowers that contrast against the dark foliage. Little Gem has the advantage of full sized blooms from a smaller sized tree; perfect for those with limited space. Magnolia Little Gem is ideal for screening or hedging as it can be pruned to shape. It can also be placed in large pots or containers.

Care

Plant Magnolia Little Gem in an area of full sun to part shade, with well drained soil. Once established, Magnolia Little Gem is a hardy and versatile plant that will tolerate a range of conditions and is relatively disease and pest free. Magnolia Little Gem is waterwise and low maintenance. Water well until established and during drier months. Use a slow release fertiliser during spring. Magnolia Little Gem can grow to a height of 4 metres and a width of 2.5 metres.
