Acacia ‘Sterling Silver’ is a small ornamental wattle prized for its striking silvery-blue foliage and compact, mounded habit. In late winter to spring it produces profuse clusters of pale yellow, fluffy pea-flowers that contrast beautifully with the cool-toned foliage, providing seasonal interest and texture in the garden.

This hardy shrub is ideal for low hedging, coastal or native-style gardens, screening, mass plantings, and containers. Its compact form and attractive foliage make it an excellent choice for adding year-round colour and structure to both formal and informal plantings.

Care

Light: Prefers full sun to part shade.
Soil: Well-drained soils; tolerant of sandy and poor soils, performs well in low-nutrient conditions.
Climate: Very hardy — tolerates heat, coastal exposure, and light frost; drought-tolerant once established.
Watering: Low water requirements; water moderately until established, then only occasional deep watering in extended dry spells.
Fertilising: Low feeding needs; apply a native/suitable low-phosphorus fertiliser in spring if desired.
Pruning & Maintenance:Light pruning after flowering to maintain shape and promote bushiness; remove dead wood as required. Avoid heavy pruning into old wood.

Height & Width: 1.8 m high × 3-4 m wide

‘Winpara Gem’ is a compact, evergreen Grevillea with glossy dark green foliage and abundant showy spider-like red to deep pink flowers that attract birds and provide long-lasting seasonal colour. Its neat, mounded habit and reliable flowering make it ideal for low hedging, mass planting and wildlife-friendly gardens.

Perfect for borders, mass plantings, containers, rockeries and informal hedging in temperate to warm climates.

Care

Light: Prefers full sun to part shade; best flowering in full sun
Soil: Well-drained soils; tolerates sandy and poorer soils but performs best in moderately fertile mixes
Climate: Suited to temperate and warm climates; drought-tolerant once established and tolerant of coastal exposure; moderate frost tolerance but protect from severe frost
Fertilising: Use a low-phosphorus native or native-friendly fertilizer in spring; light feeding during growth periods supports flowering
Watering: Low to moderate once established; water regularly during establishment and prolonged dry spells
Pruning & Maintenance: Lightly prune after flowering to maintain shape and encourage denser growth; avoid heavy pruning into old wood

Height & Width: 2-3 m tall × 2-3 m wide

Grevillea olivacea ‘Yellow’ is a hardy, medium-sized native shrub with fine, olive-green foliage and masses of soft yellow, spider-like flowers. Blooming through winter and spring, it brings cheerful colour and attracts nectar-feeding birds and bees to the garden. Its dense growth and silvery-green texture make it an excellent option for native, coastal, or low-maintenance landscapes.

This versatile shrub suits a range of garden styles, from native and coastal designs to informal hedges and mixed borders. Its bright flowers contrast beautifully with greys and blues in surrounding plantings, adding both structure and softness to the garden.

Melaleuca ‘Little Nessie’ is a tough and tidy Aussie native, perfect for modern gardens. With its dense, fine green foliage and naturally compact shape, it’s ideal for low hedging, borders, and native gardens needing structure without the fuss.

In spring, it puts on a subtle floral display with soft, bottlebrush-style flowers — a favourite with bees and birds.

‘Little Nessie’ is low-maintenance and thrives in a range of conditions, including sandy soils, coastal spots, and drought-prone areas. It’s a great choice for gardeners who want impact with minimal upkeep.

Care

Plant in full sun to part shade. Will tolerate poor or sandy soils as long as well draining. Water until established and then very drought hardy. Prune to maintain shape and fertilise in spring.
