Abelia Lime Splice stands out above others through its outstanding foliage, flower, vigour and multi-season interest. During winter, foliage is tinted with soft hints of pink and purple. Beginning in late summer, plants are covered with small, trumpet shaped, fragrant flowers that are a favourite of butterflies.

This variety is ideal as a feature plant in garden beds, borders, or low hedges, where its vibrant foliage provides contrast against darker greens. It also grows well in containers, making it suitable for patios or courtyards. Its compact size and year-round colour make it a great choice for small gardens or modern landscapes.

Care

Light: Prefers full sun to a part shaded spot. Some protection from Perths hot summer sun is advised.
Soil: Grows best in well-drained soils, from sandy to loamy types. Tolerates a wide pH range.
Climate: Handles heat and coastal conditions, with moderate frost tolerance. Semi-evergreen in mild winters, may lose some foliage in colder areas.
Fertilising: Apply a slow-release, balanced fertiliser in spring. Supplement with liquid feeds during the growing season if needed.
Watering: Water regularly while establishing. Once established, it is moderately drought-tolerant but benefits from occasional deep watering in dry periods.
Pruning & Maintenance: Lightly prune after flowering to shape and encourage fresh growth. Can be clipped into a low hedge if desired.

Height & Width: 60 cm high x 90 cm wide.
