A stunning, ornamental native tree or large shrub. Its spectacular flowers appear in autumn, often completely hiding the dark green glossy foliage. The flower spikes are long, white and scented which cascade downward. It makes a wonderful feature plant and should be trimmed back behind the spent flowers.
Very popular subtropical street tree. Can grow up to 25mts in its natural habitat, although in a domestic setting will likely only reach 8-10m max.
Care
Plant in a sunny to part shaded position, afternoon shade preferable. A light pruning once a year after flowering will keep it tidy. Feed in spring with low phosphorus fertilisers. Will tolerate occasional short periods of drought. Water well until established. Prefers warm climates, will tolerate light overnight frost once mature.
