Dutch Box are a hardy, slow growing evergreen dwarf shrub. The foliage is an attractive glossy dark green and has a very dense growth habit. Buxus plants are perfect for formal hedging, border plants, topiary, and as a feature plant in pots.
Care
Buxus can be planted in full sun, part shade or full shade. Ensure the soil is rich and well draining. Water well until established and will benefit with a good soaking during the warmer months.
During winter foliage can be subject to turning a copper colour. This is normal and can be due to the cold. An application of Garden Lime around the base of the plant will counteract this and the plant will revert to a green colour in Spring.
