Add a tropical, Mediterranean feel to your garden by planting a Yucca. This particular variety produces soft leaves that have a graceful, arching habit. The long broad leaves emerge with blush tones and mature to become burgundy in colour. This species is usually a single stem rosette when young and becomes multi trunked with age.

Yucca desmetiana can be used as a decorative border, or as a feature plant in pots and containers.

Care

Plant in an area of full sun to part shade, with well drained soil. Yucca desmetiana is drought tolerant as it has low water requirements once established making it low maintenance. Remove spent foliage and fertilise annually with a long term slow release fertiliser. Yucca desmetiana can grow to a height of 2 metres and a width of 1.5 metres.
