‘Silver Dollar Tree’ is a small Eucalyptus native to Australia with attractive evergreen ornamental foliage. Young leaves are rounded and blue-green-silver, while mature leaves are a similar colour but elongated. The bark is reddish brown and peels on smaller stems and becomes gray and stringy on the trunk as the tree matures.
It is grown primarily for its foliage but rarely produces flowers. The foliage is fragrant and is frequently used in floral arrangements.
Care
Suited to most free-draining soils. Tolerant of dry periods, frost and very cold conditions. Can be pruned to encourage bushier foliage. Good shade tree for suburban gardens.
