Port Wine Magnolia is popular an evergreen shrub to 2m with glossy oval shaped leaves. The flowers are highly fragrant, brown-purple in colour and appear during spring and summer. Ideal for fragrant hedges and screens. Can also be grown as a feature plant in pots.

Care

Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in moist, well drained soil. Mulch after planting and water in well until established. Prune to shape after flowering. Fertilise annually.
