An evergreen shrub with arching branches displaying dramatic crimson-red flower spikes in spring and summer. The contrast with its dark green, aromatic foliage is stunning. New foliage has a pink-red flush, but darkens with age.

Care

Plant in full sun in an open position to maximise the number of flowers and density of the plant. Prefers moist, friable soil that is well drained but it will tolerate poorly drained soils. Responds well to a light pruning after flowering to keep compact.
