Portuguese laurel is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to Portugal and Western Spain. Its attractive, glossy foliage releases a pleasant fragrance when crushed. Its small white flowers are also fragrant and appear in late spring to early summer.
The versatility of this dense plant allows it to act as a windbreak, privacy screen, hedges, borders, and focal point in gardens. Can be left to grow out or clipped down as short as 1m to form a dense hedge.
