This series is a compact range, in comparison to many other Salvias that have a tendency to spread and become leggy. The tighter foliage of the HEATWAVE series allows them to feature more prominently in the garden, providing colour right throughout the warmer months. The evergreen, aromatic foliage is also a welcome addition to any garden, providing colour for a very long period from spring right through to autumn in most climates.
Care
Low watering requirements. Once established, these are very dry tolerant requiring only occasional deep watering during extended periods of heat. Select a sunny location in most soil types which are free draining. Feed in spring with a general purpose fertiliser for best results. After a main lowering flush trim the plant by half to encourage further flowering and a denser habit.
